so it's friday.
umm. blah blah blah.
reading missed connections non-stop. blah blah. working on a webpage. blah blah. house music. blah blah blah.
cowboy bebop.
the more i watch cowboy bebop, the more i think cowboy bebop is about how things appear to be vs how they actually are. the more i watch, the more the true natures of the characters become more apparent.
like how spike is trying to be cool, consciously. or faye, you know, faye's just lonely lonely lonely. and how she's just a big softie. and jet too. jet's the most romantic of them all.
you know? like, watch it over and over. eventually you can begin to pick apart their true personalities. what they do, who they are.
you know? ok, example:
near the end, jet asks spike, 'are you doing it for the girl?' and he says no.
but, whatever. ofcourse he is. ofcourse he is.
but you've got to watch it in japanese though. alot of it comes through in the tone of their voices. especially faye. jezus, yeah. seriously, megumi hayashibara is just awesome.
top five favorite episodes:
(5) pierrot le fou - action packed, great cinematography.
(4) the real folk blues - oh my god. faye? with the gun? crying in the hallway? jezus. everytime.
(3) jupiter jazz - 'vicious?! you don't know the meaning of the word!'
(2) speak like a child - the end is the best. the video. the little girl.
(1) ballad of fallen angels - well, duh. green bird.
and the constant clashing of opposites is a fun thing to watch too. computers vs fortune tellers. swords vs guns. even the woman with no past vs the man who is trapped in his.
yeah. i don't know.
good show, as deep as you want to go.
